journalism

In fifteen years of freelancing I’ve contributed regularly to every UK national newspaper except the Financial Times, writing a combination of celebrity interviews, lifestyle pieces, real life stories plus the odd first person and travel feature. With comprehensive contacts across the entertainment, sporting, publishing and political arenas, I’ve quizzed everyone from Oscar winning actors to Spice Girls, Olympians to government ministers, Michelin starred chefs to sex therapists. I’ve even spent three hours on the phone to David Icke. I always meet briefs on deadline with accuracy and personality.

After completing a Media and Cultural Studies degree at Liverpool John Moores University and a Newspaper Journalism Postgraduate Diploma at the University of Central Lancashire my first job was as a reporter for the Ormskirk Advertiser in West Lancashire. From there I worked as Press Officer on Channel 4’s  groundbreaking morning show The Big Breakfast, promoting the show, handling the talent’s publicity and occasionally
being humiliated on screen.

copy writing

In 2018, I wrote the on screen copy for all the newspaper stories featured in the BBC1 prime time drama Press about the newspaper industry starring David Suchet, Charlotte Riley and Ben Chaplin. I also devised the press material for the 2008 BBC1 children’s drama Clay, starring Imelda Staunton.

ghost writing

As well as ghost writing numerous articles for high profile public figures, I also have experience writing personalised biographical life stories for the online memoir platform Story Terrace.
