IN 2001 I became freelance Managing Editor of Docklands Magazine, at the time an unremarkable bi-monthly property advertising vehicle. By the time I moved on in 2004 the title had become a vibrant monthly glossy attracting big name cover stars (including Ken Livingstone, Rankin, Terence Conran, David Bailey and Kathy Burke) and featuring travel, fashion, culture and entertainment.

In 2003 we launched sister title Islington Magazine and also defeated stiff competition (among them John Brown Citrus Publishing) to win the contract to produce the Slug & Lettuce bar chain's customer magazine, Sluglife.

I also edited Teletext's Stage & Screen section in 2005.
