AS WELL AS backpacking around some of the planet's grubbiest hovels, sleeping in mosquito-ravaged luggage racks on Yugoslavian trains and listening to the addled ramblings of way too many eternal travellers, I've been lucky enough to have enjoyed some memorable experiences in the name of travel writing.
